Disc-Tube Reverse Osmosis

Disc Tube Reverse Osmosis, DTRO for short, is an innovative reverse osmosis membrane technology, the module construction is very different from the traditional membrane rolls, the raw liquid flow channel: disc tube membrane module has a patented form of flow channel design, the use of open flow channel, the feed liquid through the inlet into the pressure vessel, from the channel between the guide disk and the housing flow to the other end of the module.
At the other end of the flange, the liquid enters the flow disk through 8 channels, the treated liquid flows through the filtration membrane in the shortest distance, and then 180º reverses to another membrane surface, and then flows into the next flow disk from the groove in the center of the disk (as shown in the figure), thus forming a double “S” shaped route from the circumference of the disk to the center of the disk, and then to the center of the disk, the concentrated liquid is then flowed through the open flow channel. “The distance between the two discs of the DTRO module is 3 mm, and the discs have bumps arranged in a certain way on the surface. This special hydrodynamic design makes the treated liquid flow through the surface of the membrane under pressure and form turbulence when bumps collide, which increases the transmission rate and self-cleaning function, thus effectively avoiding membrane clogging and concentration polarization phenomenon, and successfully prolonging the service life of the membrane package; it is also easy to wash the accumulated scale on the membrane package during cleaning to ensure that the disc-tube membrane set is suitable for harsh water inlet conditions.

(1) Low investment and operating costs

In order to achieve a high level of emission standards, compared to other processes, DTRO has the shortest process flow, the lowest energy consumption, and low investment and operating costs. The operating costs of two-stage DTRO are much lower than those of other treatment processes that can also meet the new standards.

(2) Long membrane life

The DTRO module has 3mm open wide flow channel and unique flow guide disk with bumps, the material liquid forms turbulent flow state in the module, which minimizes the membrane surface scaling, contamination and concentration polarization phenomenon.The DTRO module effectively avoids the scaling of the membrane, reduces the contamination of the membrane, and prolongs the service life of reverse osmosis membrane.The special structure of the DTRO module and its hydrodynamic design make the membrane packages easy to be cleaned, with very good recovery of flux after cleaning, thus prolonging the life of the membrane packages. The special structure and hydrodynamic design of DTRO make the membrane group easy to clean, and the flux recovery after cleaning is very good, thus prolonging the life of membrane package.

(3) Easy maintenance of membrane modules

DTRO modules are of standardized design, the modules are easy to disassemble and maintain, open the DTRO module can easily inspect and maintain any piece of filter membrane packages and other components, simple maintenance, when the number of parts is not enough, the module allows less packages and flow guide discs to be installed without affecting the use of the DTRO module.

(4) Low replacement cost of filter membrane packages

Any individual part within the DTRO module can be replaced individually. The filtration part is assembled by several filtering membrane packages and deflector discs, when the filtering membrane packages need to be replaced, they can be replaced individually, and the membrane packages with good filtration performance can still be used, which reduces the cost of membrane replacement in the biggest way, which is unattainable by other forms of membrane modules such as rolled and hollow fiber, such as when there are patches, local leakage and other quality problems of rolled membranes, or when the membrane needs to be replaced with new membranes, it is only possible to replace the whole membrane module.

DTRO membrane system treatment process and features

The DTRO membrane system as a membrane separation process has the following advantages over traditional biochemical processes:

DTRO membrane system as a set of physical separation equipment, the operation is very flexible, can be continuous operation, can also be intermittent operation, you can also adjust the series and parallel connection of the system to adapt to the requirements of the water quality and quantity;

(2)Short construction cycle, rapid commissioning and start-up

The construction of DTRO membrane system is mainly for mechanical processing, with supporting plant, pool construction, the scale is very small, the construction speed. It only takes about two weeks to complete the installation and commissioning work after the equipment arrives at the site;

(3) High degree of automation, easy operation and running

DTRO membrane system is fully automatic, the whole system is equipped with perfect monitoring and control system, PLC can automatically adjust according to the sensor parameters, send alarm signals at the right time to protect the system, the operator only needs to find the error code according to the operation manual to solve the problem, there is no high requirement for the operator’s experience;

(4) Small footprint

The DTRO membrane system is an integrated installation, and the ancillary structures and facilities are small structures with a small footprint.
